Rules & Regulations

Saturday, April 14, 2007

Due to safety reasons, personal golf carts are not permitted on the premises at Lowe's Motor Speedway. LMS Security will confiscate any unauthorized motor vehicles including, but not limited to, golf cards, segways, scooters, etc. In the case of fans with special access needs, requests for personal golf cart access will be handled on a case by case basis; in such instances, at a minimum proof of valid driver's license, insurance and handicap status will be required. Due to the risks associated with golf carts among our large crowds, even when required items are provided, the privilege is NOT guaranteed and may not be granted. Please note that fans will see some commercial golf carts in use on property during events; this usage is limited to official or emergency personnel and other authorized agents and vendors whose commercial golf cart usage is required for our events. We encourage fans to use the Nationwide Insurance Shuttles that operate during our NASCAR events in order to travel around the premises.

Race Day Questions...

1) Where do I purchase tickets for the race?
Answer: You can purchase your tickets through the Lowe's Motor Speedway ticket office, located on the second floor of Smith Tower. Ticket sales representatives are available at 1-800-455-FANS or you can purchase tickets online at Ticketmaster. On race days, there are ticket offices open at select gates as well.

2) After I have purchased my tickets, when and where can I pick them up?
Answer: If you have purchased tickets in advance, but did not have them mailed, you may pick them up at the Will Call window. Up until race week, the Will Call window is located in Lowe's Motor Speedway's ticket office on the second floor of Smith Tower. During the week of the event, the Will Call window moves to Gate 4. Hours are 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. except the day of event.

3) Where is the best place to park at the Speedway?
Answer: There is free parking surrounding the entire Speedway for your convenience. Check the parking and driving directions page to find the free parking area closest to your seats and/or your traveling point.

Handicap Parking:
We have reserved and unreserved handicap parking areas. All reserved handicap parking is sold in conjunction with a wheelchair reserved seat. Those parking areas are Ford, Toyota Fourth Turn Terrace and Diamond Tower. Please contact the Lowe's Motor Speedway ticket office at 1-800-455-FANS to purchase these passes.

For unreserved handicap parking areas located on the frontstretch, use parking directions to the Orange Zone. For the backstretch, follow the Green Zone directions.

Notes:
Speedway officials urge race fans to arrive at the track early. Use the extra time to tailgate, visit displays, souvenir row and enjoy pre-race activities. If possible, plan your trip to arrive a couple hours before the race is scheduled to begin.

  • Turn to WSOC-FM 103.7 for up-to-the-minute traffic reports.
  • I-85 to Exit 49 (Bruton Smith Boulevard) is usually the most congested road on event days. Good alternates are Hwy 29 from both the North and the South and Hwy 49 to Morehead Road.

4) How do I get to the souvenirs and hospitality sections?
Answer: Souvenir stands are located all around the Speedway, and we also have a souvenir village located at the corner of Highway 29 and Bruton Smith Boulevard. Our hospitality village is located just outside of Gates 6, 7 and 8 on the front side of the track.

5) Where are the nearest ATM's located?
Answer: There are several ATM's located throughout the facility. Check your fan guide when you arrive at the Speedway for locations.

6) Can I bring a cooler to the race? If so, can I bring alcoholic beverages into the Speedway?
Answer: Yes. Your cooler can be no larger than 14 x 14 x 14 inches, and soft and hard coolers are acceptable. This includes soft-sided and collapsible coolers. You may also bring alcoholic beverages into the Speedway in CANS ONLY. No glass bottles are allowed. No food or drink is allowed up to Speedway Club and suite levels.

7) What types of foods are available at the Speedway's concession stands?
Answer: A variety of foods such as nachos, hamburgers, and hot dogs can be found at concession stands located around the Speedway. There are also a number of independent vendors including pizza, barbeque, etc.

8) Is drive-up camping available?
Answer: Yes. All camping on LMS property is reserved, but race weeks operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Each camping area is staffed with 24 hour security and is either located near a shower house or has shuttles running daily to our restroom/shower facilities.

9) How do I contact someone at the race in the event of an emergency?
Answer: In the event of an EMERGENCY, locate the nearest LMS security representative or customer service representative to assist you. They are located throughout the facility and will gladly help you with this situation. Call 704-455-7911.

10) What are the best ways to reach the Speedway before the race and get home after the race?
Answer: The North Carolina State Highway Patrol, along with the North Carolina Department of Transportation, work hard to expedite traffic both in and out of the Speedway. Their primary goal is to get you to the Speedway before the race and to a major road as soon as possible. Please note that the Department of Transportation will counterflow traffic on roads surrounding the Speedway for faster and more efficient traffic flow both in and out.
