Due to a rockslide that occurred at mile marker 2.6 in North Carolina, near the Tennessee state line, on Oct. 25, Interstate 40 is closed from mile marker 451 in Tennessee to mile marker 20 in North Carolina. Additional Traffic Hints:
I-85 and Exit 49 (Bruton Smith Boulevard) are usually the most congested on event days. If possible, try to avoid Exit 49 and Bruton Smith Boulevard. Good alternates are Hwy 29 from both the North and the South and Hwy 49 to Morehead Road.
Speedway officials urge race fans to arrive at the track early. Use the extra time to tailgate, visit displays, souvenir row and enjoy pre-race activities. If possible, plan your trip to arrive a couple hours before the race is scheduled to begin.
